How the Journal Entry flow works

A Journal Entry (JE) records the movement of funds between accounts in NetSuite by debiting one account and crediting another. This integration uses JEs to reconcile Stripe payouts against your bank account.

Before a payout is reconciled, all Stripe-related activity is posted to a designated clearing account, which holds the amounts until the payout arrives. This includes customer payments, cash sales, customer deposits, refunds, disputes, and other Stripe activity.

When Stripe issues a payout, the integration creates a Journal Entry that moves the funds from the clearing account to your bank account.

Example. A $100 customer payment is posted to the Stripe clearing account. When the payout arrives, the JE debits the Bank Account $100.00 and credits the Stripe Clearing Account $100.00.
